Robin Wilkins, owner of Michelle’s Pet Salon and founder of the Groomology Institute of Texas, boasts over 35 years of grooming experience and has transformed her family's business into a renowned grooming destination in Texas. At the Groomology Institute, she pioneers grooming education, offering NDGAA certification and overseeing a skilled team of 15 professionals. Beyond grooming, Robin is committed to sustainability and is an active volunteer alongside her husband, sharing a love for hunting and travel with their four pets. As President of TPPGA, Robin aims to elevate Texas pet stylists through professionalism and high standards, fostering a supportive community where excellence thrives.



Judi Thacker

A 2nd generation groomer, Judi began bathing dogs at the age of 9. After attending Intergroom in1991 as a vendor selling dryers for the family business, she was drawn to become a professional groomer. Within a year she was in contest ring and quickly stepped to the challenges of competing. After 10 years of success in both the Creative and Breed Profile Styling competitions, Judi moved on to the next level in her career. Since 2000, she has hosted the Lone Star Groomer's Conference, served as Coordinator of Groom Team USA, and acted as a board member of the Groomers Emergency Assistance Fund. She was honored in both 2004 and 2005 with an invitation to participate in the Tournament of Champions. "I really feel like I came full circle after judging the Creative Styling Competition at Groom Texas in 2019, as Creative Styling is where my contest career started"

Judi owns a thriving mobile grooming business, serving the who's who of Houston. Since becoming an Elite Team member she has traveled from coast to coast as a well known speaker within the industry. Passionate about working with young groomers, she loves to teach and empower others through the craft of grooming.



Sarah Penrod

Sarah Penrod, Austin’s first NCMG, launched her grooming career in 2005 as a private groomer for a professional handler. Since then, she's become a salon owner, educator, and award-winning competitor, earning accolades like Pet Pro Classic’s "Best Pet Stylist in Texas" in 2011, Barkleigh Honors Award nominee for “Up And Coming Groomer of the Year” in 2012, and consecutive Best in Show awards at Groom Texas in 2016 and 2017. Sarah's passion for animals and commitment to learning drive her role as Education and Events Coordinator, where she aims to mentor and pass on her wisdom to aspiring groomers in Texas.



Amy Coffman

Amy Coffman proudly serves as Secretary and Board Member of the Texas Professional Pet Groomers Association, where she plays an active role in strengthening industry standards, supporting groomers statewide, and helping guide the future of professional pet grooming across Texas.

A lifelong groomer and second-generation industry professional, Amy began learning the trade at just 10 years old alongside her mother. Today, with more than 40 years of hands-on experience and over two decades as the owner and operator of two successful grooming facilities in the greater Dallas–Fort Worth area, she brings both deep technical knowledge and real-world business insight to everything she does.

Amy is passionate about raising the bar for the profession — from mentoring and upskilling her team to improving safety practices, advancing grooming techniques, and advocating for fair, livable wages for groomers. Her leadership style blends practical experience, education, and a forward-thinking mindset focused on professionalism, sustainability, and long-term growth for the industry.

When she’s not working with clients, staff, or serving the association, Amy enjoys traveling, spending time on the lake, and making memories with her family. She’s a proud mom to two adult children: Cheyenne, an alum cheerleader at SMU, and James, who serves in the U.S. Army.


Misty Reed

Misty Reed is a Nationally Certified Master Groomer in College Station with over 26 years in the industry as a groomer and formerly a vet tech. Education and safety are the most important aspects of the grooming industry to her, and in addition to mentoring new groomers she is also a Pet CPR/First aid instructor who has certified over 350 individuals to be prepared for emergencies with their clients pets as well as their personal ones. She is active in her local all breed AKC kennel club, serving as an officer for 8 years with the last 3 of those as President. She breeds and shows English Springer Spaniels, competing in conformation where she has put championships on 5 dogs with multiple group placements, as well as various performance sports including rally, obedience, dock diving, agility and volunteering in pet therapy. She has participated in grooming competitions and searched as captain of the 2019-2020 IJA Texas Grooming Team. In her down time she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling with her dogs or working with her horse.
